What should I wear?

Clothing that allows you to move your body freely and possibly breathable materials. Yoga is practiced barefoot. Socks are not recommended.

 

Can I eat before practicing?

Wait 2-3 hours after the last meal or 1-2 hours after your last snack before you begin practicing. If you often feel dizzy during the lesson, eat a fruit 1 hour prior to practicing Yoga to raise your blood sugar level.

 

Is it important to practice Yoga at home?

The more you practice Yoga the greater and deeper you benefit. But practicing Yoga needs to happen with wisdom. Daily form, energy level etc. play an important role. Most important listen to your body and don’t let yourself be fooled by laziness of your brain! Practicing ½ hour daily is good but also a 2-3 hour session once week has its benefits.

 

Can I practice Yoga during my menstruation cycle?

Yes, but the final decision is of course yours. Every body is different, feel what is right for you at that time. Some Yoga traditions say not to practice certain Asanas such as headstand or shoulderstand ect. There are plenty of alternative Asanas that can be done, whenever you choose not to practice certain postures.

 

Can Yoga be practiced during pregnancy?

During most pregnancies Yoga can be practiced but it is important to get clearance from your physician prior. Students that already practice Yoga with me must let me know as early as possible, so that we can talk about the adjustments. New students I recommend to find a Yoga course for pregnant women.

 

At what age can Yoga be practiced?

Yoga is suitable for all ages. Kids, Teenagers and Seniors can practice Yoga. There are appropriate ways to practice depending on age and mental and physical ability.
